‘Football takes me many places. Hot places, cold places.’ says Cristiano Ronaldo in the latest Castrol Edge ad. In the commercial Ronaldo demonstrates his ability to play football in extreme hot and cold weather conditions and then matches this to the oil’s capacity to do the same. FIFA’s 2008 World Footballer of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo, is a brand ambassador for Castrol.
The ad was shot in several locations; a desert scene was filmed in the Richtersveld, Namibia, Ronaldo’s shots in Manchester and the remainder of the commercial was shot in and around the Western Province as all extreme weather conditions can be found in the Cape. Great work considering they only had Ronaldo for 6 hours.
